What a fashionable street the Singel used to be, decades ago: we found four postcards of our part of the street, from around 1900,
and during the second world war.

Renovation almost done, we head for Ireland to blow the dust out of our hair. Well, beware what you wish for: we got
storm...rain.....cold. But thoroughly enjoyed it.

Renovation photo album
The wooden pole foundation of our house had rotten away, due to low levels of ground water: the water had drained into leaking sewer pipes
in the street. Nothing we could help, but alas. The ground floor had to be stripped, new 18 meter long poles hammered into the ground,
new concrete floor and then all walls and ceilings, the toilet and kitchen, plumbing etc had to be redone.
Now that the clouds of dust have settled, we can look at the latest pictures......
