After our final stay in Eilat, we start the finale of our house renovation. Three parts of ceiling and one wall are still to be covered with plasterboard, and the forefront needs urgent repairs: the right hand pier is completely cracked and partly being pushed out of the wall.

That part of the forefront is no longer attached to the side walls.

Two burly blokes start to demolish the window. The glass is too heavy to lift, and they smash it gently. Then the wooden frame is carefully cut loose, to prevent the wall from tumbling down.

Hmm, a bit frightening, such a big hole in the wall. Steel supports keep the horizontal beam up.

Two new windows replace the old big one, with a pier in between for extra strength.

When the cement has hardened, the final pier with the cracks is carefully removed.

Well done guys: a nicely pointed and finished forefront.

Meanwhile, Henk screws the last plasterboards to the walls and ceiling, and together we finish them with 35 rolls of wallpaper and 40 liters of wall paint.

We intended to find someone to rent the ground floor, and find ourselves a regular job. But somewhere along the way we realised we were actually missing working for our own little company. So: we put down the floor-covering, put up new lamps, and went to Ikea for tables and cupboards.

All computers and equipment from Eilat are unpacked, and Exatech is ready to go again.

The ground floor may be ready, but the living quarters can not be renovated yet because our next door neighbor is delaying the works at her place for over a year and a half. She'd better hurry though, for her house is starting to crumble as well: a window has burst its glass because her forefront is sagging, her balcony is permanently flooded, rotting and cracking.....

....and the roof board has come down a couple of centimeters. Only when her foundation has been hammered in place can we start to finish the cracks in our living room. Nice to have such a neighbor.
