After the second burglary, we decide to move to an apartment
as quickly as we can. Seen the flat on Thursday, arranged the contract
and the electricity on Friday, packed on Saturday while Brad, Mr Spic
& Span himself, cleans the apartment. Monique drops by with her friend
Rudi and dog Shrek, to see the apartment, but we spend so much time talking
in the garden that we run out of time.
|
How about a Hot Dog: Shrek is getting cool by bellying
down on the tiles after playing in the garden.
|
Moving places, Israel style: one big mess, four young boys
running out of the house with the furniture, chairs and tables all over
the street, but 20 minutes later the house is empty and the truck full.
Not a long drive: the new apartment is less than 100 meters from the house.
|
The movers came at 17:00h, and at 18:15 every piece of
furniture was in the apartment. We unpacked a few necessities, bought and
installed a new lock, made our beds, and celebrated a successful operation
with a sip at the balcony. Tired, exhausted, but glad to be away.
|
And this is the view from the balcony: all of Eilat is
at our feet, we overlook the Red Sea with Aqaba on the other side of
the water and the mountains of Jordan. The palace of the king of Jordan,
where peace talks were held last year, is exactly in the center of the
picture. Not really a bad swap. And the view from the study is just the
same. It will be quite hard to work without staring at the window all day.
