The moon rises over the mountains across the sea. The moon
is almost full, but there is little time to enjoy it as Mr Bean comes to
fix 3 fans to the ceiling, and 2 shelfs in the study. Dust everywhere, tools
and cell phones crashing on the tiles time after time, big mess, but he
thoroughly enjoys it: "Joffi Toffi, VERY STRONG" he shouts while hammering
screws into the ceiling.
|
The next evening, a total eclips of the full moon is expected.
We watch the spectacle from the balcony. The weather forcasts for Holland
are not favourable: rain and clouds, but we have a clear sky and it looks
as if you can snatch the moon just by reaching out. Our old-fashioned digi-camera
depicts the eclips, but reality was infinitely more beautiful.
|
The shelfs in the study are Joffi Toffi, Very Strong as
well: they all but crash spontaneously from the wall, and are so askew
that the white binder fits easily, while the blue one lacks an inch. Moreover,
they tilt so heavily that only non-skid items will stay there. We disassemble
them the next day, and refit them, again without water spirit, but quite
level!

A couple of impressions of the building: this is the entry
hall opposite the elevators.
|
The kitchen is now fully functional, we even have gas,
and the burners indicate that we are the very first ever to use the stove.
Overhead cupboards are not present, so a huge pile of potato crisps is
just balancing on the shelf above the stove.
|
Next to the kitchen is an open balcony for the boiler,
airconditioners and the washing machine. This is a clever contraption to
keep the heat out of the apartment.
|
The lovers nest, with forced air cooling..... This
fan was also Joffi Toffi Very Strong, and crashed down at the first touch.
Henk fixed it again with his USD 25,= cordless drill (really that cheap:
only 125 shekel, with extra battery pack, hammer function and a lot of drill
bits).
|
The Safe Room is fitted as a walk-in closet: a long wished for asset
for Sonja.
|
The view from the backside of the building. We look directly upon the
Eilati Mountains, and the road from the right to the center of the picture
is one of the two roads to Eilat. This one leads to the charter airport
of Uvda.
|
The sun sets at the mountains of Jordan. Eilat in front is already in
the shade of the Eilati mountains, while Aqaba is colored red and purple.
