some romantic pictures of the house: the window to the left
belongs to the bedroom, two little windows at the front are the toilet and
one of the bathrooms, and the window next to it is the balcony, which has
been closed to contain the washing machine, to keep the heat out of the house.
|
... and on the balcony lives this Gecko. Probably mum or
dad Gecko, as we have also seen a baby gecko.
|
Another weekend off: Henk's legs are still too red to go to
the beach, so we stay in the garden with a snack and a drink. We just might
get used to this kind of life....
|
... although it will require a lot of practicing!
|
Like pods? Then have a good time here: this tree is just across
the street, full of pods already dried and bristling in the wind. When
a dust storm occurred, the garden was covered in pods: thousands of them
flew high into the air.
|
really spectacular, such a storm: the sun was dimmed, the mountains
just behind the foothills were no longer visible, and the airport was
closed.
|
Moon lit nights: the new moon is just above some planet
or other, just before disappearing behind the house. It was already pitch
dark, but our simple camera managed to turn it into a fairy tail image.
|
Finally, the relief goods have arrived: the first
box was shipped 6 weeks ago, the last one, 3 weeks ago, but they arrived
all at once. We immediately located the Taco seasoning mix and turned
it into a great Mexican dinner (not available here).

Remembrance day (Jom Ha-Atzmaut) in Eilat. At the
25th of April we attended the memorial, air warning sirens howled for
a minute, all victims from Eilat were named while their picture was projected
on a large screen, and there was singing and speeches. Toute Eilat was
present.
|
And the next day the party starts: independence day.
Everyone decorates his house and car with Israeli flags, and so did we.
|
Even the car got 2 flags. The big hammer that Sonja
is wielding is intended to hammer anyone passing by friendly on the head.
Fortunately it was inflatable, otherwise we would have been charged quite
a lot of car damage
|
Meanwhile, our neighbour from hell
has been kicked out by Dror for making too much "balagan" (trouble, noise
etc). After his departure, the nights become quiet and we can catch up
with sleep.
