and then we got burgled: the lock in the kitchen window
was forced: a piece of it is still on the window sill. Both laptops were
stolen by a not-so-clever thief, as he left the battery chargers on the
table. And especially the big 17"Acer laptop has a very specific power
supply, so it will not be of much use... Moreover, we lost about 800 dollars
and euros in cash, taken from our wallets in the bedroom.
|
After the burglary we made the study less visible by draping
curtains over the cupboards and the window. The PC's were replaced by big
desktop computers with a convenient handle, allowing us to take them upstairs
every night. Installing the new PC's, getting replacement software and
the loss of certain test files have set us back by several weeks. And we
lost all our music: there were about 80 CD's stored on the laptop, in MP3
format.
|
Our special mosquito net, hanging from the ceiling with lots
of pieces of rope and electricity tubing, to give us more space. Only changing
the linen is a bit of problem: that will take the best part of an hour....
|
Finally, a day at Coral beach, on the other side of the water
are the mountains of Jordan, and a bit more to the right hand side is Saudi
Arabia.
|
Our bottle of Dutch sun protection appears a bit under rated
for the Israeli sun: Sonja's shoulders and head are red, and Henk cannot
walk for a couple of days: his legs and feet are red as tomatoes and swollen.
Next time, we will take an Israeli bottle with factor 75!!!
|
...and this is how the feet looked after a week: large chunks of
Henk are everywhere in the house. But light is shining through his toes,
so it will be all right!
